Full marbled calf hardcover w/gilt titling and five raised bands, 4to (10.5 x 8.625), very good / n.a., 1080 pp., 1-72 pp. (A Brief Concordance to the Holy Scriptures, of the Old and New Testaments, by Which All or Most , of the Principal Texts of the Scripture, May Be Easily Found Out.), 1-40 p.p., (The Psalms of David in Metre.). Various religious and philosophical articles/newspaper clippings laid in on both paste-downs fore and aft, general scuffing, rubbing and wear to the binding, hinges have cracked and been lightly repaired with some sort of strong Japanese tissue paper?, light chipping to edges of some pages, general age toning of paper throughout.
Contains the provenance and genealogy of the of the Isaac and Elizabeth Fortsyth Family, this Bible having been given to Elizabeth by her "friend" Isaac Forsyth in 1815 (Inscription on Title Page). An odd inscription however, in that under marriages it shows they were actually married August 30th 1808. The had five children - pretty good friends one must say, quite the distinctive sector of Captured Tyme!
